One command reads your ~/.claude/ directory and puts every skill, agent, hook, MCP server, plugin and memory file on a Starfleet operations console. Click anything to read it like a PADD.
npx claude-hud-lcarsnpx claude-hud-lcars --serveAll systems nominal. 37 modules installed, 7 vessels in the fleet, 12 hooks armed.
Everything Claude Code knows about your setup, on one console. Each module below ships in the claude-hud-lcars package today.
Skills, agents, hooks, MCP servers, plugins, environment variables, sessions, CLAUDE.md files and memory from every project. One scan of ~/.claude/ puts all of it on a single console.
Click any row and the detail panel slides open with the full file. Markdown renders with tables and code blocks, JSON configs get syntax highlighting, and secrets are redacted.
Press Cmd+K, Ctrl+K or / from any screen to search every skill, hook, server, agent, memory file and session at once, colour-coded by type.
The COMPUTER bar streams answers from Claude in the voice of the LCARS computer. Your skills become installed modules and your MCP servers become the fleet. Runs in live mode with your own API key.
Spoken replies through the browser's speech engine or ElevenLabs. Every click gets a synthesized LCARS chirp from the Web Audio API, with no sound files shipped.
A force-directed sensor map of your whole setup. Drag nodes, hover for readouts and click to jump straight to an item. A 3D Enterprise-D waits in the same tab.
An MCP server goes offline and the console drops to red alert with a flashing border and klaxon. Missing configs raise yellow alert. A healthy setup reads Condition Green.
Browse local marketplaces or load the official MCP registry and npm, then install a server straight into settings.json with one click.
Enterprise-D, Defiant, Voyager and Discovery palettes. Name your ship and it appears in the header bar and the boot sequence.
A sensor map of your whole setup, plotted live in the dashboard's Tactical tab.
The real console runs a force-directed graph where every skill, MCP server, hook, agent and memory file is a contact around your ship. What you see here is a 3D sweep of the same idea.
From terminal to bridge in three steps and about a second.
npx claude-hud-lcarsRuns straight from npm. Nothing to install, no config file, no build step.
~/.claude/Walks your Claude Code directory, parses frontmatter, redacts secrets and embeds it all as JSON in one HTML file.
npx claude-hud-lcars --serveYour browser opens the console. Add --serve for live mode on localhost:3200 with chat, voice and file editing.
What the generator reads on every run.
| Path | Yields |
|---|---|
~/.claude/skills/*/SKILL.md | Skill definitions with frontmatter |
~/.claude/agents/*.md | Agent definitions |
~/.claude/settings.json | Hooks, MCP servers, plugins, env vars |
~/.claude/projects/*/memory/*.md | Memory files across projects |
~/.claude/projects/*/CLAUDE.md | Project CLAUDE.md files |
~/.claude/sessions/*.json | Session metadata |
~/.claude/history.jsonl | Conversation history |
The COMPUTER bar chat needs an Anthropic API key in its own variable, so it never spends the key Claude Code uses. Browsing works without one.
# add to ~/.zshrc

→ console live at http://localhost:3200In the dashboard, Q drops in uninvited every few minutes to review your setup. He is rarely impressed.
“I've watched civilizations rise and fall in the time it takes you to configure a webhook. And yet here you are, with a dashboard. Bravo, mon capitaine. Truly.”
Answers from the library computer.
CLAUDELCARS is the home of claude-hud-lcars, a free npm package that turns your Claude Code configuration into a Star Trek LCARS operations dashboard. It reads your ~/.claude/ directory and generates a single self-contained HTML file showing every skill, agent, hook, MCP server, plugin, memory file, session and CLAUDE.md you have.
Run npx claude-hud-lcars in a terminal. You need Node.js 18 or later and an existing Claude Code install. To keep it on your machine, run npm install -g claude-hud-lcars and then claude-hud-lcars.
Run npx claude-hud-lcars. It lists every skill in ~/.claude/skills, every hook and MCP server in settings.json and project .mcp.json files, plus agents, plugins and environment variables, each with a count in the sidebar. Click any row to read the full definition, and press Cmd+K to search across all of them.
Yes. The dashboard collects memory files and CLAUDE.md files from every project under ~/.claude/projects, plus your global CLAUDE.md, and renders each one as formatted markdown. In live mode you can open them in your editor straight from the detail panel.
Browsing your setup needs no key at all. The AI chat in the COMPUTER bar runs in live mode: set CLAUDE_DASHBOARD_API_KEY to an Anthropic API key and run npx claude-hud-lcars --serve. It uses its own variable so it never spends the ANTHROPIC_API_KEY that Claude Code relies on.
The static dashboard is a local HTML file that makes no external requests apart from loading the LCARS typeface. MCP server environment variables are redacted. In live mode, file operations are restricted to ~/.claude/ and your API key stays on the local server.
Skills in ~/.claude/skills, agents in ~/.claude/agents, hooks, MCP servers, plugins and environment variables from settings.json, memory files and CLAUDE.md files from every project, session metadata and conversation history. It also finds project-level .mcp.json files in common code directories, and CLAUDE_HUD_DIRS adds more.
macOS and Linux with Node.js 18 or later. The package has zero runtime dependencies.
Yes for personal and open source use. claude-hud-lcars is released under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0, which does not permit commercial use.
npx always fetches the latest release. For a global install run npm update -g claude-hud-lcars. In live mode, CONFIG then Server Info has RESTART and UPDATE buttons.
No. It is an independent fan-made developer tool by André Figueira. Star Trek and LCARS are trademarks of CBS Studios Inc. Claude is a trademark of Anthropic.

One command. Your bridge.
If you use Claude Code, you already run a complex system of skills, hooks, servers and memory. This puts it on screen in about a second, and the screen happens to be the Enterprise.
